NITI Aayog will launch the State Power and Local weather Index-Spherical 1 on 11 April 2022.
The index will probably be launched by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar, within the presence of NITI Aayog Member Dr VK Saraswat and CEO Amitabh Kant, secretaries of assorted authorities departments and stakeholders from the power sector.
The State Power and Local weather Index (SECI) Spherical-1 goals to rank states and UTs on six parameters: (1) Discoms’ Efficiency (2) Entry, Affordability and Reliability of Power (3) Clear Power Initiatives (4) Power Effectivity (5) Environmental Sustainability; and (6) New Initiatives. These parameters embody a complete of 27 indicators. Primarily based on the result of SECI Spherical-1 scores, states and union territories have been categorized into three teams: ‘Entrance Runners’, ‘Achievers’, and ‘Aspirants’.
The index can be utilized by the states and UTs to benchmark their efficiency towards their friends, analyze the potential challenges to develop higher coverage mechanisms, and effectively handle their power sources.
