Greater than 40,000 employees from Community Rail and 15 practice operators will strike on 8 October, their union has stated.
The RMT stated it will be “successfully shutting down the railway community” as a part of an extended operating dispute over pay, jobs and situations.
It comes after the union held the most important rail strikes in 30 years over three days in June.
RMT common secretary Mick Lynch stated the union had met with new Transport Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan.
