The Bengaluru bandh referred to as by farmers and Kannada organisations on Tuesday and backed by the BJP and JD(S) in protest towards the discharge of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu has impacted the traditional functioning within the metropolis.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda stated that prohibitory orders underneath Part 144 are in place throughout town from midnight on Monday to midnight on Tuesday within the wake of the bandh.

A number of Bengaluru residents and travellers shared the scenario on account of the Bandh declared within the metropolis. “Persons are struggling because of the strike. A number of IT industries are there, so all of the people who find themselves working there are going through issues,” a passenger travelling from Hosur in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu to Bengaluru in Karnataka instructed information company ANI.

Bus companies from Tamil Nadu in the direction of Karnataka had been disrupted amid a ‘bandh’ referred to as in Bengaluru. In the meantime, farmers’ organisation held protests on Cauvery water sharing problem in Freedom Park, Bengaluru.  

A consumer on X (previously Twitter) additionally shared photos of the fairly Bengaluru streets, and wrote, “#BengaluruBandh No car motion on street. No outlets are open.”

In the meantime, accusing opposition BJP and JD(S) of politicising the Cauvery row, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday rejected allegations that his authorities has failed on the difficulty, and stated his administration has by no means lagged behind in defending the pursuits of the state, its individuals and farmers.

He reiterated the significance of the misery water sharing components and the development of a Mekedatu balancing reservoir throughout Cauvery river because the decision for the dispute with neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

“It’s most unlucky that BJP and JD(S) are potlicising the Cauvery problem. They’re doing it for the sake of politics and never within the curiosity of the state or its individuals,” Siddaramaiah stated, as per PTI.
