The Division of Telecom earlier issued an advisory relating to calls threatening folks with disconnection of their cellular providers.
The division alerted residents a couple of surge in malicious calls whereby it’s being mentioned that the receivers’ cellular numbers might be disconnected inside two hours by the DoT.
“The DoT doesn’t make calls to residents threatening disconnection. Residents are urged to train warning and never present any private data in the event that they obtain such calls,” the advisory mentioned.
Within the advisory, the DoT urged residents to not share any private data in the event that they obtain a name threatening disconnection.
“Confirm the authenticity of such calls along with your service suppliers. Bear in mind that the DoT doesn’t talk disconnection warnings through cellphone calls. Any such name needs to be handled as suspicious,” the advisory mentioned.
The DoT requested residents to report any suspicious calls on the Nationwide Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
