A day after widespread rainfall in Punjab and Haryana, minimal temperatures plummeted on Saturday, with Bathinda being the coldest at 0.8 levels Celsius, the climate division mentioned.

Bathinda was the coldest in each states, recording 5 levels beneath regular minimal temperature.

Earlier on January 12, town had recorded a low of 0.6 levels Celsius. Bathinda logged a minimal of minus 1 diploma Celsius on January 17, 2023.

The minimal temperatures within the two states fell by as much as 5 notches beneath regular limits on Saturday, officers mentioned.

In accordance with the Meteorological Division (MeT), Faridkot and Ferozepur in Punjab additionally reeled underneath intense chilly, recording minimal temperatures of 1 diploma and 1.6 levels Celsius, respectively.

Amritsar recorded a low of two.4 levels, Ludhiana 4 levels, Patiala 3.5 levels, Gurdaspur 4.4 levels, Hoshiarpur 2.5 levels, and Mansa 3.9 levels Celsius.

Chandigarh, the widespread capital of the 2 states, recorded a minimal temperature of 5.3 levels Celsius.

In Haryana, Hisar was the coldest place, logging a low of 1.6 levels Celsius.

Ambala recorded a minimal of 6.2 levels, Karnal 4 levels, Narnaul 2.5 levels, Rohtak 6 levels, and Bhiwani registered a low of three levels Celsius.

Ending a chronic dry spell, the widespread capital of the 2 states witnessed widespread rainfall on Friday, disrupting regular life in some areas, the MeT mentioned.
