Markets trade flat at midday as Shriram Finance leads gainers, Maruti drops

Benchmark indices traded largely flat in afternoon commerce on Monday, with traders remaining cautious amid combined international cues and the absence of recent home catalysts.

The Sensex was down 17.61 factors or 0.02 per cent at 83,921.10, whereas the Nifty edged up 17.30 factors or 0.07 per cent to 25,739.40 as of 12:56 pm.

Shriram Finance emerged as the highest gainer on the Nifty, surging 5.30 per cent to ₹788.60, extending its morning rally. Apollo Hospitals adopted with a acquire of 1.92 per cent to ₹7,828.50, whereas Mahindra & Mahindra rose 1.58 per cent to ₹3,542.30. State Financial institution of India added 1.17 per cent to ₹948, and SBI Life Insurance coverage climbed 1.09 per cent to ₹1,977.

On the dropping aspect, Maruti Suzuki was the worst performer, declining 3.35 per cent to ₹15,644. ITC dropped 1.44 per cent to ₹414.30, whereas Tata Consultancy Companies fell 1.23 per cent to ₹3,020.50. Bharat Electronics shed 1.11 per cent to ₹421.35, and Larsen & Toubro slipped 0.95 per cent to ₹3,992.50.

Broader markets outperformed the benchmarks, with the Nifty Midcap 100 rising 0.55 per cent to 60,150, whereas the Nifty Subsequent 50 gained 0.80 per cent to 70,384.30. Sectoral indices confirmed power in banking and monetary providers, with Nifty Financial institution up 0.54 per cent at 58,086.70 and Nifty Monetary Companies advancing 0.55 per cent to 27,287.95.

Market breadth remained constructive on the BSE, with 2,124 shares advancing in opposition to 1,939 declining shares out of 4,303 traded. A complete of 150 shares hit their 52-week highs, whereas 70 touched 52-week lows. Moreover, 212 shares hit the higher circuit, in comparison with 189 within the decrease circuit.

The session opened on a subdued be aware, with the Sensex beginning at 83,835.10 in opposition to its earlier shut of 83,938.71, whereas the Nifty opened at 25,696.85 in comparison with the earlier shut of 25,722.10.
