Two creative sector ‘freelance champions’ appointed by government

The federal government has introduced the appointment of two folks to symbolize freelancers within the artistic industries.

Leila D’Aronville and Lizzie Crump have been given the roles to advocate for the 703,000 self-employed folks within the artistic sector. Information for 2025 reveals that 28.5% of sector’s 2.6 million employees have been self-employed, in comparison with 14.8% for the broader financial system.

Freelance champion Lizzie Crump mentioned:
