SEOUL (Reuters) -North Korea fired an unspecified ballistic missile towards the east coast, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Workers stated on Thursday, following joint South Korean and U.S. missile drills and the return of a U.S. plane service to the area in response to the North’s latest missile assessments.
The missile launch was the sixth in 12 days and the primary since North Korea fired an intermediate-range missile over Japan on Tuesday.
The Japan Coast Guard stated North Korea might also have fired a second missile, including that they appeared to have landed already.
Individually on Thursday, North Korea condemned the USA for repositioning a U.S. plane service within the waters off the Korean peninsula. The transfer posed a “critical menace” to the soundness within the area, it stated in an announcement launched by the reclusive nation’s overseas ministry.
