Addressing reporters on the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Liaquat Ali Chattha claimed that candidates who had been initially “shedding” the elections had been manipulated to emerge as winners. 

“I’m taking the accountability for all this wrongdoing and telling you that the chief election commissioner and the chief justice are additionally utterly concerned on this,” he was quoted as saying by the Daybreak newspaper.

Liaquat Ali Chattha tendered his resignation, accepting accountability for the alleged manipulation of ballot outcomes. He expressed deep concern, stating that the act of “stabbing the nation in its again” retains him awake at night time.

“Neither is the commissioner of any division ever appointed as a DRO, RO or presiding officer, nor do they ever play a direct position within the conduct of elections.”

Punjab caretaker Data Minister Amir Mir has dismissed the claims made by Liaquat Ali Chattha concerning the manipulation of election outcomes, stating that no concrete proof has been offered to help these allegations. Mir expressed skepticism concerning the timing of Liaquat Ali Chattha’s allegations, suggesting that the commissioner is perhaps trying to launch a political profession after his retirement on March 13.
