Go First’s CEO Kaushik Khona has instructed its pilots that with impact from June 1, it will likely be paying a retention allowance. It’s going to pay a retention allowance of ₹1 lakh to captains and ₹50,000 to first officers.

The airline, which briefly suspended operations on Might 2, instructed its pilots on Sunday that “issues form up as per the current progress and plan, it gained’t take lengthy earlier than we shall be flying once more which may even allow us to be common on wage funds.” The airline is but to pay wage for April and Might.

He stated that the retention allowance shall be relevant to all captains and first officers who’re launched on-line for flying and are on our payroll as on 31 Might 2023. “We’re additionally going to reintroduce the longevity bonus which we count on to announce quickly,” Khona stated.

The airline is but to restart operations. It has suspended operations until Might 30.

In one other letter, dated Might 28, although, the airline stated it’s going to function a check flight on Might 30, at 3 pm, from Bombay, topic to DGCA approvals, and that it could resume operations on Might 31. The DGCA didn’t reply to this paper’s question.

The airline was filed for voluntary insolvency earlier this month. It has dues to the tune of ₹11,000 crore. The airline has blamed Pratt and Whitney for the short-term suspension. Final week, addressing the pilots, Khona had stated the airline is dedicated to pay its staff earlier than restarting operations.
