Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani visited IIT Bombay on Wednesday and expressed his gratitude to his alma mater, attributing all his achievements to the institute. This go to got here precisely a month after he made a big donation of Rs 315 crore to mark his 50-year affiliation with the distinguished establishment.

In a tweet, Nilekani shared his emotions concerning the go to and stated, “A big day for me. Returned to IIT Bombay 50 years after I first entered the establishment. I’m what I’m due to IIT Bombay. I’m assured that this hallowed institute is on its method from being India’s greatest to being one of many world’s greatest!”

In recognition of Nilekani’s service and help, IIT Bombay introduced the naming of its iconic essential constructing after him. The constructing will now be often known as the “Nandan Nilekani Primary Constructing.” The institute organised a particular felicitation ceremony to honour their distinguished alumnus, celebrating 65 years of IITB’s pursuit of excellence.

Nilekani’s contribution of Rs 315 crore is without doubt one of the largest donations made by an alumnus in India. Together with his earlier grants of Rs 85 crore, he has dedicated a complete of Rs 400 crore in donations to the institute.

Having joined IIT Bombay in 1973 for a Bachelor’s diploma in electrical engineering, Nilekani expressed his deep connection to the establishment, stating, “IIT-Bombay has been a cornerstone in my life, shaping my early life and laying the muse for my journey.”

“As I have fun 50 years of my affiliation with this esteemed Establishment, I’m grateful to present ahead and contribute to its future,” he added.
