South Korea has chosen mobile vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) direct communications as its normal for the constructing of its next-generation car communication system.

The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport mentioned on Tuesday that the nation will use LTE-V2X solely for the constructing of a Cooperative-Clever Transport Methods (C-ITS).

C-ITS goals to permit superior communications between automobiles and base stations across the street to extend street security. The system is anticipated to put the muse for the deployment of automated driving automobiles 

The ministries in 2021 introduced that it’ll start trials to find out by 2023 whether or not it should use C-V2X, which makes use of mobile cellular networks, or devoted short-range communications (DSRC), which is a variant of Wi-Fi, as its normal for C-ITS. In September, roughly 150 specialists in a public listening to hosted by the science ministry proposed C-V2X.
