Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Government Chair Jeff Bezos offered greater than $2 billion in shares this week.

Bezos offered about 12 million shares at costs of round $170 a share in 5 share gross sales on Wednesday and Thursday, in accordance with a regulatory submitting on Friday.

Bezos nonetheless owns about 976 million shares of Amazon (AMZN).

The disclosure comes after Bezos earlier this month adopted a plan that might let him promote as many as 50 million shares earlier than early subsequent 12 months, or about $8.6 billion in inventory.

The plan, made public in Amazon’s 2023 annual report, was adopted on Nov. 8, 2023 as a part of the SEC’s rule 10b5-1(c) to promote as much as 50 million shares over a time period earlier than Jan. 31, 2025, topic to sure circumstances. Bezos, who co-founded Amazon in 1994, owned roughly 10% of the corporate, or roughly 990 million shares, earlier than the share gross sales disclosed on Friday.
