Six years after the announcement of plans to construct Atari Accommodations in eight cities throughout the US, together with Las Vegas, just one now appears to be shifting ahead, in Phoenix, Arizona. The Las Vegas deal finally “did not come to fruition,” spokesperson Sara Collins advised Las Vegas Solar this week, and Atari Accommodations is placing its focus into the Phoenix website “in the interim.”

Phoenix was all the time meant to be the primary website, adopted by different inns in Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle. However Las Vegas is now apparently off the desk, and there have not been any indicators of life across the different deliberate areas. The FAQ on the Atari Accommodations web site notes, “Further websites, together with Denver, are being explored beneath separate improvement and licensing agreements.” The Atari Lodge venture was introduced in 2020 simply earlier than the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and consequently skilled improvement delays. Building on the Phoenix lodge, which was supposed to interrupt floor in 2020, is anticipated to start late this 12 months, with its opening now deliberate for 2028.

However perhaps do not maintain your breath. In response to a December press launch, the corporate remains to be attempting to lift $35 million to $40 million to fund the “playable vacation spot” for players in Phoenix.
