Department for Business confirms ministerial briefs

Department for Business Innovation Science and Technology ministers

The Division for Enterprise, Innovation, Science and Commerce (BIST) has formally confirmed the briefs for its ministers following the adjustments introduced by new prime minister Andy Burnham.

BIST is the brand new identify for the Division for Enterprise and Commerce after the closure of the Division for Science, Innovation and Know-how (DSIT). Nearly all of the tasks of DSIT have moved to BIST led by enterprise, innovation, science and expertise secretary Jonathan Reynolds.

As revealed by SMEWeb on 23 July, former entrepreneur Lord Leong is the brand new small enterprise minister. His full title is small enterprise and enterprise minister.

Blair McDougall, the earlier small enterprise minister, is now minister for reindustrialisation in a joint position with the Division for Vitality Safety and Web Zero.

Baroness Lloyd of Effra is minister for house, cyber and regulatory reform, Anas Sarwar is minister for commerce, Kate Dearden is minister for the way forward for work, and Chris McDonald is minister for science, innovation and funding.

As beforehand introduced, Kanishka Narayan is minister for synthetic intelligence. He attends Cupboard conferences.
