Government announces regulatory taskforce to help cut small business red tape

The federal government has appointed a brand new group to develop suggestions for lowering regulatory and administrative burdens on micro, small and medium-sized companies.

The Small Enterprise Regulatory Taskforce contains representatives from enterprise, authorities, regulators and consultant teams.

They’ll take a look at the place guidelines may be streamlined or higher designed to replicate smaller companies, equivalent to improved regulatory steerage, lowering duplication and complexity, and modernising how corporations work together with regulators.

The federal government has set a goal of lowering administrative burdens by 25% in its regulation motion plan.

The members of the taskforce are:

  • Blair McDougall MP, co-chair and minister for small enterprise and financial transformation
  • Tina McKenzie, co-chair and chair of coverage and advocacy at Federation of Small Companies (FSB)
  • Michelle Ovens, founding father of Small Enterprise Britain
  • Polly Dhaliwal, COO of Enterprise Nation
  • Neil Davy, CEO of Household Enterprise UK
  • Charlotte Keenan, managing director at Goldman Sachs
  • Dr Roni Savage, CEO and Founding father of Jomas Associates
  • Joshua Toovey, head of coverage and analysis on the Affiliation of Impartial Professionals and the Self‑Employed (IPSE)
  • Kate Shoesmith, director of coverage and perception on the British Chambers of Commerce
  • Iain Wright, chief coverage and communications officer at Institute for Constitution Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW)
  • Ed Woodall, CEO of Affiliation of Comfort Shops (ACS)
  • James Caroll, No. 10 particular advisor
  • Emma Jones, Small Enterprise Commissioner
  • Katie Martin, enterprise advisor to the monetary secretary to the Treasury
